Lakshmi Charan Paduka

Goddess Lakshmi is highly regarded as the Goddess of wealth, good fortune and prosperity.  It is stated by wise and experienced astrologers in India that when Goddess Lakshmi had first appeared, she appeared in the attire of a bride holding a Kamal Gatte ki mala or rosary in her hand for Lord Vishnu, her husband. At that moment, her feet bore several symbols each responsible for ushering in prosperity. These symbols were fifteen in number with those on the left foot varying from those on the right.

Mentioned below were the symbols on the left foot:

•    Tilak – Symbolizing triumph, fortune and respect.
•    Trikonakar mangal bindu or Triangle – Symbolizing focus and determination.
•    Teer Kaman or Bow & Arrow – Apart from being the most common and favorite weapon of the Gods, it symbolizes determination and perseverance.
•    Kumbha or Pot – Symbolizing accomplishment of wishes and good health.
•    Chandra – Denoting light, purity and vivacity.
•    Chakra Rekha – Symbolizing Soubhagya and Swasthya.

Furthermore, worshipping it religiously helps intensify Goddess Lakshmi’s blessing and rids the worshipper of misery and bad luck.
